CLEVELAND (WKYC) -- A Cleveland investigator has confirmed to 11Alive's Cleveland sister station WKYC, that a plea deal has been offered in the case against Ariel Castro.
Castro is said to be considering the deal but nothing has been finalized. He is facing 977 criminal counts including kidnapping, rape and aggravated murder.

If the plea deal is accepted, Castro is expected to appear in court Friday morning to formally accept the deal.
The plea deal would mean that Castro would not face the death penalty.
Castro was initially arrested in May after Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight escaped years of captivity inside a home on Seymour Avenue.
