CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Yachiyo of America Inc. will open a new manufacturing plant in Carrollton, bringing more than 200 jobs to the area.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced Thursday that the Japanese automotive supplier will also invest $30 million in the west Georgia region.

"We are very proud to welcome Yachiyo to our community, and we stand ready to assist them in their continued prosperity for the benefit of our citizens," Carrollton Mayor Wayne Garner said.

Yachiyo's new plant will be located in the Carrollton Industrial Park and will train its employees through Quick Start, a customized workforce training program.

The company joins Trident Seafoods in choosing Carroll County as a place to expand in the Southeast.

Chris Smith, vice president of Yachiyo of America Inc., said the levels of interest and cooperation from Carrollton were key factors in his company's decision to move there.
