WINDER, Ga. -- A judge has denied bond for one twin brother charged in the death of a former newspaper reporter from Florida whose body was found entombed in concrete in the backyard of their father's Winder home.
Last week, authorities charged 31-year-old Christopher and William Cormier with murder in the death of 30-year-old Sean Dugas. The brothers are also charged with concealing a death.
Barrow County Superior Court Judge Penn McWhorter said Thursday that William Cormier did not appear to have significant ties to the community and seemed to be a flight risk.
Christopher Cormier was not at the bond hearing because he is awaiting appointment of a lawyer.
Winder Police discovered Dugas' body after being contacted by investigators in Pensacola who were looking into the former reporter's disappearance. Dugas had last been heard from on Aug. 27.
An autopsy determined Dugas died from blows to the head about a month before his body was found on Oct. 8.
