GRAYSON, Ga. -- Classes are out for winter break, but school counselors will be available at Grayson High School Thursday to meet with students grieving the loss of a 14-year-old freshman.
Gwinnett County Police said Paul Sampleton was killed in an apparent robbery at his home Wednesday.
Counselors will be available in the school's media center until 3 p.m Thursday to meet with students and staff.

Sampleton's father found his son dead in their home on Haynescrest Drive, off Highway 78 in Grayson. Authorities think the teen may have interrupted a robbery. Students were released early Wednesday, after finals, to begin their holiday break.
Classmates said the popular teen was well-known for his large collection of expensive, brand-name tennis shoes. Friends speculated on social media that the teen may have been killed by someone trying to steal his sneakers.
Police acknowledged the rumors but said they were one of several possible leads investigators were pursuing.
