Commissioner Bobby Cagle with the State Department of Early Care and Learning sees the opportunity, along the president, as a way for Georgia to serve as a model for other states.
"We're just thrilled that the president chose to use us as an example of high quality education, and we're very excited about his visit to Atlanta," Cagle told 11Alive News.
Commissioner Cagle said the long-term impact of a child's early education is crucial.
"We knew that for many children, if they don't get an early start then they're far behind when they get to kindergarten and often times they don't get a chance to catch up," Cagle said. "It's vital that we can use every moment with a child to make sure their brain develops to it's full capacity."
