ATLANTA -- Baseball legend Henry Louis "Hank" Aaron joined Twitter this week and is quickly attracting fans.
Aaron's Twitter account -- @henrylouisaaron -- went live early Tuesday. Forty followers had signed on before he sent his first tweet at around 10 a.m.
"I am officially on Twitter! I won't be posting a lot, but look forward to sharing with you," Aaron tweeted.

The Braves confirmed the account at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday. Within an hour, "Hammer" had more than 7,000 followers, reports MLB.com.
As of early Thursday, more than 25,000 were following Aaron's account.
The Baseball Hall of Fame members was following only 10 accounts as of early Thursday, including Jason Heyward, Chipper Jones, Dale Murphy, Rep. John Lewis and, of course, the Atlanta Braves.
Aaron, who holds numerous baseball records, made his Major League debut in 1954 and spent 21 of his 23 Major League seasons with the Braves. Aaron lives in Atlanta and is a senior vice president with the Braves organization.
