ATLANTA -- For the first time since 1994, the runners of the Peachtree Road Race will not only be dealing with the 6.2 miles they have to run - but also the rain.
Never in the 40 plus year history of the race has it been canceled and streak will continue on as all systems appear to be ready to go just hours before the start 2013 event.
While the rain itself should not be a problem for runners, they are encouraged to stay out of deep water, so their shoes and socks do not get wet.
Other tips include: To make sure to wear clothing will not become heavy after getting wet and to stay away from the edges of the road.
