HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. -- A 14-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Cherokee County Wednesday night.
The child was struck on Toonigh Road near Holly Springs Road.
Cherokee County Sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker said the boy, whose name was not released, swerved in front of a car that was trying to pass him.
The child was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite with serious injuries. Police do not believe his injuries are life-threatening.
Baker said investigators determined the boy was at fault in the accident and do not expect to file charges against the driver.
