ATLANTA -- An abandoned house was heavily damaged by a fire Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at around 12:30 a.m. at a home on Harriett Street near Blashfield Street in southeast Atlanta.
First responders battled heavy smoke and flames at the single-story house. No one was injured.
The president of the local homeowners' association said the house was empty and boarded up.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. Fire officials may check security cameras from a nearby business to see if they caught images of anyone entering or leaving the house.
