ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga -- The "pepper spray bandits'" reign of terror may be over. Two suspects are in custody in connection with a string of robberies in two counties.
It took the combined efforts of the Rockdale County Sheriff Office and the Henry County Police Department to identify two suspects who were terrorizing convenience store clerks.
Johnny Jay Collins, 36, of Stockbridge is in custody and charged with two robberies in Henry County. Cordero Woody, 27, turned himself in and is also in jail Thursday morning.

One of the robberies was at the Marathon gas station on Jodeco Road that happened December 26, 2013. Collins and Woody allegedly used an axe to threaten the store clerk. They also punched him in the face when he couldn't open the store safe.

The two suspects earned their moniker in three other robberies, one in Henry County and two in Rockdale County, where the two suspects sprayed the clerks they robbed with pepper spray before fleeing the store. In two of those robberies they used a machete as a weapon.

Investigators say both Collins and Woody will be charged with two counts of armed robbery in Henry County and two counts of armed robbery in Rockdale County.
Rockdale County investigators are asking for the publics help finding Woody. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Rockdale County Sheriff Office at 770-278-8000 or call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
