Thursday's pollen count over 8,000

ATLANTA -- Metro Atlanta's pollen count nearly doubled Thursday.

The pollen count is 8,024, compared to Wednesday's 4,151.

The Atlanta Allergy & Asthma Clinic said top contributors include elm, cedar, oak and birch trees.

A storm system is expected to move through the area Thursday evening and could bring the pollen count down considerably.
