Sylvan Hills Middle School evacuated

ATLANTA -- A reported gas leak at Sylvan Hills Middle School in southwest Atlanta has forced officials to evacuate the building.

Atlanta Fire spokeswoman Janet Ward said a leak was first reported at around 8:30 a.m. Atlanta Gas Light crews were dispatched to the school, but determined there was no gas leak.

Atlanta Public Schools spokeswoman Kimberly Willis Green said students were taken to Kennedy Middle School. Parents were notified of the move through phones calls, e-mails, letters and social media.
